          "Held Hostage by My Father"

          February 28, 2012

Ashley says she was only 5 years old when her father began sexually abusing her at least twice a day. For the next 13 years, she says she suffered in silence, oftentimes locked away in a small camper, where she gave birth to four of her father’s children. Alone and with no medical attention, Ashley says she did what she could to stay alive and save the lives of her babies. In her first national interview since her father’s arrest, the 22-year-old mom speaks to Dr. Phil about her horrible ordeal.

          An Unthinkable Childhood
Ashley opens up about being abused by her father for most of her childhood, her four pregnancies and giving birth alone and in silence, with no medical attention. Where was her mother? How did Ashley’s absence from school go unnoticed? And, find out what happened to Ashley’s children.

“When I went into labor, he tried to punch me in my face to keep me quiet.”

          The Nightmare Finally Ends
Ashley explains how her nightmare came to an end, how she testified against her father and what worries her now. And, Jane Velez-Mitchell, host of Jane Velez-Mitchell on HLN, nicknamed Ashley’s father “The Monster of Missouri.” She joins the discussion. How did the system let Ashley down? Plus, how can Ashley one day tell her surviving son who his father is?

“When I heard that he was going to jail for life, I jumped up and down for joy.”
