Parents Claim 23-Year-Old Son Experiences ‘Blackout Rages’

          VIDEO

          January 11, 2017

“My son is violent and out of control,” claims John of his 23-year-old son, David.

“He will stand toe-to-toe with me and fight,” says David’s mother, Terry, who claims he has “blackout rages.”

“When David’s in a blackout rage, he sees nothing. He’ll yell and scream at the top of his lungs. He’ll damage anything in his path,” accuses John.

Both parents claim David is mentally ill. They say they fear for David’s 2-and-a-half-year-old son, who lives with him. David says that he and his child split their time between David’s pickup truck and a homeless shelter.

TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Huge family drama?

David acknowledges fighting and having “angry outbursts,” both with family members and others. He also says he hasn’t had steady employment in six or seven years. “Nothing ever lasts more than six months at a time,” says David.

Dr. Phil cautions David – that he may be at risk of having his son taken away unless his current situation changes. Dr. Phil says help is available for David and his son, “but you’ve got to help me, instead of being pissed off about everything.”

Is David ready to make a change to ensure a better life for his son? Tune in to Wednesday’s Dr. Phil. Check here to find out where you can watch.
