Mollie, 32, was still sucking her thumb when she came to see Dr. Phil. It's been three months, and thanks to a relaxation and imagery CD by Dr. Frank Lawlis, she's broken the habit.
"The relaxation CD has taught me techniques to take the moment and let everything just go away," says Mollie, who has more patience now, and is coping better with stress.
Dr. Phil wants to reiterate that you can't take away a coping mechanism without putting something in its place. And by taking five minutes to relax, the effect will last for several hours.
Dr. Phil asks to see Mollie's thumb. "Looks good, and it's dry," he reports.
