Description
I have more than 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples and groups. I was awarded my Bachlor of Arts by Limestone College in 1973 in Theatre Arts in Play Production, my Master's by UNCC in Counseling, Human Development and Learning, specializing in Individual and Group Counseling, in 1979 and my Doctorate by the University Of Georgia in Counseling in 1987, specializing in Creativity, Psychotherapy and Research Methodologies. I practiced in Atlanta from 1984 until 2007. I am accepting new clients, take most insurance, and have a sliding scale for qualifying folks who can not afford full fee. I work with older adolescents and adults.

My clients are dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, self-seteem, life transitions, stress and trauma, including childhood sexual abuse. I have conducted workshops and in-service trainings privately and for hospitals, for The Georgia Counselors Association and The American Academy of Psychotherapist about treatment, Dissociation, Hypnosis and also about Creative Thinking and Creative Problem Solving. I have been interviewed on television about Child Sexual Trauma and the ramifications of early trauma on the survivor's later life. I served on the Speaker's Bureau for Atlanta's child abuse prevention association doing adult education and I served on the board of SAFE in Brevard. SAFE is an organization dedicated to the prevention of domestic violence, whatever form it may take, and for providing safe transition housing for the victims of domestic abuse, including children and the family pet.

I am a published author and am finishing a novel. My writing has been in "Voices" and "Pilgrimage, " both professional psychology journals. My book, "The Creative Personality and The Creative Process, " was published by University Press of America. I am an artist and have had my work sold in galleries. When appropriate, I use art therapy and sand tray therapy with my clients.

I believe in peoples ability to, with support and education, heal themselves and change their lives. I treat each client I see with respect and encouragement."
