“My son is violent and out of control,” claims John of his 23-year-old son, David.
“He will stand toe-to-toe with me and fight,” says David’s mother, Terry, who claims he has “blackout rages.”
“When David’s in a blackout rage, he sees nothing. He’ll yell and scream at the top of his lungs. He’ll damage anything in his path,” accuses John.
Both parents claim David is mentally ill. They say they fear for David’s 2-and-a-half-year-old son,

David acknowledges fighting and having “angry outbursts,” both with family members and others. He also says he hasn’t had steady employment in six or seven years. “Nothing ever lasts more than six months at a time,” says David.
Dr. Phil cautions David – that he may be at risk of having his son taken away unless his current situation
changes. Dr. Phil says help is available for David and his son, “but you’ve got to help me, instead of being pissed off about everything.”
