Jan has been in hiding with her 4-year-old grandson because she's afraid of her son-in-law, Chris — the man she says killed her daughter. Chris plead to and served time for involuntary manslaughter and now wants his son back.

"I'm always looking over my shoulder," Jan says.

Jan faces Chris for the first time since she left town with her grandson. Chris is joined by Melissa, his attorney in seeking custody. Does pleading to involuntary manslaughter have a bearing on his ability to be a father?
