Young Woman Confronts Her Father Who She Says “Ruined Her Childhood and Adolescence”

          VIDEO

          July 26, 2016

“My dad has been drinking for as long as I can remember,” claims Jordan. “Growing up, I remember him doing shots while we were driving, and I thought that was so normal. He was just so casual about it.”

The 22-year-old says that her father has ruined happy events in her life because he has been drinking, including, she says, being hung over at Christmas celebrations and missing her senior graduation.

“The day of my prom, when we were all taking pictures, he showed up drunk,” Jordan claims. “I’m trying to have fun with all my friends, and here’s my dad making everyone super uncomfortable.”

Scott admits that he drinks but says his drinking has only been out of control for the last five years. “I’m sure there have been events that I’ve missed but I’m not going to say it was because of being drunk,” he says. He says he doesn’t know why he drinks to excess now but insists he can get it under control.

However, Scott’s wife and Jordan’s stepmom, Megan, claims that for the last five years, Scott has been a “drunken, incorrigible, alcoholic mess,” and says she believes it’s a miracle that he is still alive. And Megan’s daughter, Kendall, claims that Scott drove head on toward her family while he was intoxicated.

“My dad has had so many close calls, and he hasn’t learned from any of them. He lives like he’s invincible,” says Jordan, who organized an intervention for her father during which she claims he was drinking. “There are so many people who care about him and love him, but I feel like he doesn’t want anybody to care about him because he’s suffered a lot of losses in his life.”

Turning to Dr. Phil for help, Jordan adds, “My dad does need to grow up and start handling things and start fighting for himself because I can’t do it anymore. I can’t be emotionally attached to him anymore.”

In the video above, Dr. Phil confronts Scott about his behavior. And, hear from Scott's stepdaughter, Kendall, who describes an incident in which Scott almost killed her family while he was drunk. This episode of Dr. Phil airs Tuesday. Watch more here.
