Every nine seconds a woman is assaulted and beaten by a man she loves. In fact, physical abuse occurs in two-thirds of all marriages at least once. Why is domestic abuse so rampant and how can the cycle be stopped? Also, Dr. Phil gets a rare glimpse into two private therapy sessions, at the world renowned Tubman Family Alliance, with abusers and victims in various stages of recovery.
To the outside world they seem perfect, but Michelle says she's been taking a beating at the hands of her husband, Aaron, for four years.
When the show is over, Dr. Phil offers more advice to the couples.
