On August 13, 2019, 37-year-old Andrea Knabel, an outgoing and devoted mother of two who volunteered for a group that helps find missing people, disappeared. Nancy Schaefer, the founder of the organization Missing In America, says she became best friends with Andrea when they began working together and now goes through daily emotional pain while searching for her friend. Nancy says it wasn’t until she hired retired Homicide Detective Joe Fanciulli that she learned that Andrea was hiding several secrets, including that she was a meth user and dealer. Joe says Andrea’s risky behavior likely led to her disappearance. Andrea’s father, Mike Knabel, and younger sister, Erin, say that they have been devastated by the disappearance of Andrea and won’t stop looking for her. Watch the first episode of “Finding Andrea” on October 15, streaming on Discovery+ network.
