15-Year-Old With $1,000 Monthly Allowance: ‘I Feel Like A Peasant’

          VIDEO

          May 1, 2018

“My mom raised me with everything I’ve ever wanted, and she needs to continue. It’s the only life I’ve ever known,” says Nicolette.

TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Know someone with outrageous behavior?

The 15-year-old says she loves designer clothes and handbags and shopping on Rodeo Drive, where she has purchased numerous brand-name items costing thousands of dollars on the credit card her mom provides for her. “I know I’m a spoiled brat, but I enjoy the lifestyle,” Nicolette says. “People are going to hate on me, but they wish they were me.”

Nicolette’s mom, Nina, admits that she has raised an “extravagant, spoiled and bratty” daughter. “Nicolette has always had the best of anything and everything,” she says.

Nina says she realized Nicolette’s spending was out of control – sometimes she would spend $10,000 a month — so she decided to cut her allowance from $5,000 a month to $1,000, which she says did not go over well with the teen.

“I feel like a peasant. I can’t live like this anymore. I’m always out of money,” Nicolette says of her new allowance. “If you ask me, I think my mom should be giving me at least $2,500 a month, just to cover my basic expenses. I need money to buy clothes. I need money to buy shoes. My mom just doesn’t get it.”

Hear more of their story in the video above. And on Friday’s episode of Dr. Phil, hear why Nina says she continues to give into her daughter’s desires. Check here to see where you can watch.
