The teen says he has witnessed his parents arguing and that he feels he has had to stand in between them to try and stop their fighting. He also says he protects his younger siblings from the chaos.

The teen’s father, Seth, responds to hearing his son’s fears. “I love my kids to death,” he says. “They mean everything to me.”
“The most powerful role model in any child’s life is the same-sex parent,” Dr. Phil tells Seth. “You’re the most powerful role model in his life. What do you want him saying to himself?”
