At 22, Conner says, “I shouldn’t have life figured out.” His grandmother, Michelle, says he has lived with her for over a year and needs to figure out how to be a “real adult.” Michelle claims that Conner neglects his hygiene, refuses to get a job or complete his GED, and spends most of his time gaming or video-chatting with his girlfriend. Conner admits to having “lazy tendencies,” but says though he is currently unemployed, he has worked the past and that his hygiene is better than his grandmother claims.

On Tuesday’s Dr. Phil, Conner meets with life development coach and best-selling author, Mike Bayer.

“What I’m seeing is a young man who is a bit scared to get behind the wheel. Scared to kind of get out in the world,” says Coach Mike in the video above. When he asks Conner about his priorities, how does Conner respond?
