Domestic violence is probably one of the most under-reported things going on in America today, Dr. Phil says. In the video above, he outlines four statistics that show the prevalence of domestic violence in the United States.
TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Life in crisis?
1. 3 is the number of women that are murdered every day in America by an intimate partner.
2. 5 times more women are victims of domestic violence — either serious assault or murder — than are men.
3. 85 percent of the victims of murder are women.
4. 100 women per hour, 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week are beaten by an intimate partner in the United States.
