“I was born weird. I don’t know why. That’s just how God made me,” says Jaxon. The 16-year-old was born with Hereditary Sensory and Autonomic Neuropathy (HSAN) Type 7, a rare neurological disorder that leaves him without the ability to feel pain.

Jaxon’s parents, Lance and Julie, say he has inadvertently injured himself dozens of times – including breaking multiple bones.

Continuing, Jaxon says, “My dad taught me, ‘Enjoy every second of your life,’ because someday I might lose it. And so I enjoy every second with my parents.”

Watch the video above to hear more about Jaxon’s daily routine, his hobbies, and his aspirations.

And later, Dr. Phil has a surprise in store for the teenager. Tune in to Thursday’s episode, “The Child Who Feels No Pain,”  to see Jaxon’s response to meeting one of his favorite entertainers.
