Hope, a 22-year-old transgender woman who lives in Hollywood, describes her daily life and what she says she must do to stay alive.

“I’ve been supporting myself as an escort. I’m doing what I need to do, what I have to do to keep myself alive,” explains Hope. “My daily life consists of getting ready for the day, texting some guy that’s trying to meet up.”

The young woman, who says she’s homeless and either stays at hotels or a friend’s house, shares that it’s not easy living this type of lifestyle but she's hoping to make enough money to complete her transition.
“I’ve had guys punch me. I’ve had my arm cut open by a glass door that a guy slammed into me,” she says. “A lot of the time, I just feel lonely.”
