An ‘Oil And Vinegar Story,’ Says ‘So Help Me Todd’ Star Marcia Gay Harden
“This is a very fancy lawyer mom who has a down-and-out detective son, and they come together and solve cases,” says Marcia Gay Harden, star of the new CBS television series “So Help Me Todd.” It’s the latest prime-time offering from executive producers Dr. Phil McGraw, his son, Jay McGraw, and their company, Stage 29 Productions.
The Academy Award®-winning actress plays Margaret, mother of title character Todd (Skylar Astin), in the hour-long detective series. She describes the show as an “oil and vinegar story.” “My character Margaret is all about the rules and all about following the rules, and Todd is all about unconventionally breaking the rules to solve the case,” says Harden.
“So Help Me Todd” premieres tonight, Thursday September 29 at 9 p.m./8 p.m. Central on CBS. The show is also available to stream live and on-demand at Paramount Plus. Watch Thursday’s Dr. Phil for previews and more behind-the-scenes interviews with the cast.
