In March 2015, Michelle Wilkins, a 26-year-old first-time mother-to-be, was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her baby girl, Aurora. Michelle, then seven months pregnant, answered a seemingly innocent post on Craigslist advertising free maternity clothes. But when she went to the woman’s home to pick up the clothing, she allegedly was attacked and, while unconscious, her unborn baby was cut from her womb.

Update: After trial, the jury deliberated for close to seven hours before finding Dynel Lane guilty of attempted murder, unlawful termination of a pregnancy and assault. In April 2016, she was sentenced to 100 years in prison.
