First cousins Angie and Michael say they fell in love as children. After 20 years apart, the cousins reunited and recently got married in Colorado, one of 19 states in the U.S. permitting marriage between first cousins.

Michael claims they’re not actively trying to have children, but says if Angie does end up pregnant, they’ll be the best parents they can be.

He also claims there is a “huge misconception about the genetic consequences of having children with your first cousin.”
