Dad of missing Brittanee Drexel claiIn April 2009, 17-year-old Brittanee Drexel of Rochester, NY left the state without her parents’ permission to spend spring break in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with friends. She vanished on the night of April 25th, without a trace. Seven years passed without a break in the case, but now, the FBI says it is investigating the claims of a jailhouse informant.
According to the testimony of FBI Agent Gerrick Munoz, an inmate, Taquan Brown told authorities that the teenager was kidnapped, raped and murdered; her body then, he believed, disposed of in an alligator pit near McClellanville, South Carolina. Munoz testified in federal court about Brown’s allegations that 25-year-old Timothy Da’Shaun Taylor was one of several people involved in the girl’s disappearance.

In an exclusive interview with Dr. Phil, Brittanee’s father, Chad Drexel, says he traveled to Myrtle Beach about three years after her disappearance to distribute flyers and keep up public awareness about his daughter’s disappearance. It’s on that trip, says Chad, that he believes he met Timothy Da’Shaun Taylor, though he didn’t know it at the time.
Drexel describes handing a flyer to the driver of a car – a man, he says, who had only one arm. He claims the flyer was then crumpled up and thrown on the ground, and the men in the car sped off laughing.
Drexel says that when he later told investigators about the incident, he learned that Taylor is missing an arm.
Chad Drexel claims that investigators told him Taylor confirmed the meeting. “He had told one of the investigators at the time that ‘Yeah – I met the father.’ “
