Competitive Runner To Using A Wheelchair – How Nurse Says She Was A Victim Of Medical Gaslighting
Jennah, a competitive distance runner, says three years ago, her legs would get heavy in the middle of a run, and when she stopped running, she had throbbing headaches and pressure in her chest. She says when she finally went to the ER, doctors told her they didn’t know what was wrong with her and that she should modify her lifestyle.
“I didn’t think anyone was taking me seriously,” Jennah says.
On Wednesday’s episode of Dr. Phil, “Medical Gaslighting: It’s Not All in Your Head,” Dr. Phil discusses medical gaslighting. Hear from a woman who says she saw 30 different doctors within five years for migraines before she finally got a diagnosis, and another who says she was told to drink soup and listen to calming music to help symptoms. Check local listings to see where you can watch.
