Five Michigan teenagers have been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a 32-year-old father of four. The suspects, ages 15-18, are accused of dropping a six-pound rock from a highway overpass just north of Flint, and hitting the vehicle Kenneth White was riding in on October 18, 2017.

Kyle Anger, 17, Mikaydyn Payne, 16, Mark Sekelsky, 16, Alexander Miller, 15, and Trevor Gray, 15, have all been charged as adults. All five teens have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

Police allege the teens had a history of tossing items off the crossing.

Mikaydyn Payne’s father, Michael, says he was called to his son’s school the next day, and that’s when he learned the teen was being questioned by two detectives. “They told me that Mikaydyn had just wrote a statement on paper. They told me he was part of the five boys that were supposed to be the ones involved in the rock dropping.”

“I never thought in a million years that I would ever face anything like that and especially coming from one of my own,” Mikaydyn's father continues in a daytime exclusive interview with Dr. Phil airing Wednesday. “You know the whole incident involving somebody dying is, is devastating.”

Why does Michael Payne say he believes his son is not the type of boy who would participate in the crime he’s been accused of?
