George Floyd was sitting in his car after attempting to buy cigarettes at a deli on May 25, 2020, when he was approached by Minneapolis police officers. Shortly after being pulled from his car, Floyd was on the ground and police officer Derek Chauvin’s knee was on his neck holding him down.
The next 8 minutes and 46 seconds – the last moments of Floyd’s life – have been seen across the world and ignited protests.
