Christa and her soon-to-be ex-husband, John, says that since they separated two years ago, their son, Jake, has become addicted to video games.

Jake, who dropped out of band, stopped going to school and admits to becoming aggressive toward his parents and younger sister agrees, saying, “I truly think I am addicted to video games.” He says he’s upset about the divorce and uses the games as an escape.

Christa says she’s tried taking Jake’s games away and claims John keeps buying him more.

“This is both psychological and neurological,” says Dr. Phil on Monday's episode, noting, “Every mental health organization has recognized that there is a gaming addiction.”
