Mariah and her boyfriend, Leighton, have been dating off and on for the past four years. The couple, who admits they’re addicted to opiates, says they’re ready to get sober.

On Friday’s Dr. Phil, Mariah is referred to New Method Wellness, a substance abuse treatment center located in San Juan Capistrano that specializes in dual diagnosis treatment.

“I don’t want you to kind of do this. I want you to do this and I want you to knock it out of the park and then I want you to pay it forward for a long time in the future,” Dr. Phil tells her.

“I will take this opportunity and make this work,” says the 24-year-old.

When Leighton is referred to Creative Care in Malibu, a substance abuse, and mental health treatment facility, Dr. Phil tells him: “They work from detoxification of drugs and alcohol right through the pathology that has driven you to make asinine choices and decisions all of your life.”

“I’m gonna offer this to you and I expect you to lean into this and if I hear one word from these people about you playing games, we will kick your ass to the Malibu curb.”

“Please. Thank you - yes,” says Leighton.

Are Leighton and Mariah motivated to leave the drugs behind and reclaim their lives? Tune in to Friday’s Dr. Phil.
