After recently posting an emotional video on Facebook about her life, Sinéad O’Connor reveals to Dr. Phil her years-long struggles with her mental health. The Irish singer said she did not want to live in the shadows anymore and wanted to use her struggle to inspire others to reach out for help and to destigmatize mental illness.

In the video above from Tuesday's episode, Dr. Phil shares a surprise with O’Connor.

“I told David Foster that I was going to talk with you, and that you said one of the things you wanted to do was get back to your music. And I said, 'If she wants to, will you work with her and do songs'?” he says.
