Dr. Phil doesn’t mince words when he tells the young woman what she must do to save her life.
“You need to go into a very serious, long-term dual diagnosis treatment program to get yourself healthy for the first time ever,” he says. “Are you willing to do that?”
“To an extent, yes. Depending on what it is,” Kaitlin replies. “I want help … but as of me committing myself to programs where I would I would have to be inpatient for months, I just don’t believe that I could do that.”

Dr. Phil says her other alternative may be jail.
“You have made some interesting declarations here on the show that you’ve dealt drugs, and that’s a crime which you’ve confessed to,” he tells her. “She’s shooting up five times a day, and she’s got to get those drugs and she’s going to go get them, and she can be arrested making that drug connection, and she can go to jail.”
“So you think forcing someone to get help like that is the best way?” Kaitlin retorts.
“I don’t give a [expletive] what you think. I’m concerned about your baby,” Dr. Phil tells her. “Your baby doesn’t have a voice, your baby doesn’t get a vote. I’m speaking for your baby.”
