Nerissa claims she was choked by a man after he called her and her daughter, Patricia, racial slurs and threatened to kill them. Her husband, Gabriel, claims he was also assaulted by the man and broke a rib. Patricia witnessed both encounters and captured them on cell phone video. However, she says that when the police arrived, the man was not arrested.
 
The family, along with their attorney, Sandy Roxas, joins Dr. Phil on Tuesday’s episode, “The Invisibility of Anti-Asian Hate,” to share their story and why they say they believe anti-Asian hate is often overlooked. In the video above, hear why they question if he will ever appear in court.
