Blake’s mom, Sandra, wrote Dr. Phil saying she was at the end of her rope with her son’s behaviors. She says he’s “extremely volatile, narcissistic and entitled,” and although he has a college degree - he can’t hold a job because his anger always gets the best of him. Sandra says she knows she enables Blake by paying his way, but she doesn’t want to see him in jail or on the streets. She says when Blake was 15, his father abandoned the family, and they don’t know where he is, or if he’s even alive.

When he was 18, Blake says he went to visit his dad, who he describes as “scary.” That was eight years ago. Blake says he believes his father is mentally ill and he feels like he lives in his dad’s shadow. He began seeing a psychiatrist at age 7 and claims his mother has forced him into a mental hospital twice.

TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Life in crisis?

In the video above, Dr. Phil says he can’t diagnose Blake’s dad without meeting him, “When it comes to something like mental illness and schizophrenia, genetics tell us who can be afflicted with schizophrenia, depression or whatever - not who will be.”

Will Blake accept Dr. Phil’s referral for professional help? Tune in to Thursday's episode. Click here to find your local listing.
