Homeless For A Night, In-Debt Teenager Claims Vegas Street Population Smells Like ‘Poverty’

          May 17, 2017

Joey, says her 19-year-old daughter, Cherylyn, is nearly $25,000 in debt and has “blown” over $130,000 on expensive makeup, designer shoes, accessories, fine dining, online gambling and more.

TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Does a Friend or Family Member Owe You Money?

Rosie Mercado, special correspondent for the Emmy award-winning show The Doctors, takes on a new assignment for Dr. Phil when she’s asked to accompany Cherylyn on a “girls’ night out” in Las Vegas. But the two aren’t shopping, dining, gaming – or staying in a five-star hotel.

“You said one of your biggest fears is – what would happen if you ended up on the streets, and tonight I’m bringing you out to the streets to see the reality of what happens out here,” Rosie tells Cherylyn.

As the two walk through a homeless encampment, before settling in for the night, Cherylyn remarks, “Oh, It smells.”

“What does it smell like?” asks Rosie.

          “Poverty,” she replies.

Is Cherylyn able to tough it out for an entire night – or does she find a way to escape the streets – and the lesson she’s been sent to learn? This episode of Dr. Phil airs Wednesday.
