Taylor Murphy says he was living his dream as a FDNY firefighter, risking his life to save the lives of others, when he met a transgender woman named Claudia on the streets of New York. Murphy, who was also a model and had gained fame for his sexy photos and firefighter calendar, says Claudia recognized him and struck up a conversation, and the two began dating.

“There was a lot of feelings and stuff like that involved, but she had a boyfriend in L.A., so I would just describe it as pretty intense dating,” Murphy tells Dr. Phil in an exclusive interview airing Friday.

Murphy was arrested for allegedly beating Claudia outside a New York City strip club in August 2011. Even though he was eventually cleared of the most serious assault charges, he was convicted of misdemeanor assault and violating a restraining order and lost his job with the FDNY.
