Safe in Austin is an animal rescue in Austin, Texas that takes in animals from severe abuse or those that have special needs.
“We invite children who also come from any form of abuse or special needs out to the rescue to touch, and love, and heal alongside the animals,” says Jamie Wallace-Griner, Founder and Owner of Safe in Austin.

Wallace-Griner says she started Safe in Austin because she has a son with autism and saw the amazing connection her son had when he received a trained service dog. “The point of what we do now is to spread that to as many people and animals that need it,” she says.
