Alexandra says she’s been coping with “hypochondria” since she was a child. The 23-year-old, who admits she’s gone to the E.R. sometimes twice a week, says she has also lost numerous jobs due to her behavior and that it has impacted her family, friends, finances, and happiness.

Dr. Phil reviews some of the events from Alexandra’s past and how they may be affecting her behavior in the video above.

“When you get really anxious, you go into a fight or flight reaction,” Dr. Phil says.

On Wednesday’s episode, "'$10,000 and Counting: My Sister’s 'Hypochondria' is Ruining Her Life'," hear from Alexandra’s sister, cousin, and friend and how they say Alexandra’s behavior affects their relationships with her. Does Alexandra think her behavior is change-worthy? Check local listings to see where you can tune in.
