“My sister says I’m homeless, but I am not homeless. I am car camping,” says Mark, who has been living in his car -- which is held together with bungee cords and glue -- in a big box parking lot for over a year. “I do everything everybody else does, just a little differently.”

Mark says he is leasing his car through a rideshare program for which he used to be a driver, but after a mishap in which his car was damaged, he is no longer able to drive for the program.

“I am a full-functioning adult that just is trying to make it work,” says the 41-year-old. “My family has been a bit hard on me. They have what I call have-it-all-together syndrome. My sister is a little on the judgy side. She doesn’t understand the struggle of paycheck-to-paycheck.”
