Tami’s former fiancé, Chris, is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence for first-degree assault after he pleaded guilty to attacking her with a meat tenderizing hammer two years ago.

TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Life in crisis?

Tami says she suffered multiple injuries in the attack, including a concussion and broken vertebrae.

Her 19-year-old daughter, Taylor, is credited with saving Tami’s life. She says that Chris texted her that night, suggesting that she not come home.

“I had a really bad feeling that something was wrong,” she says. “I tried to dismiss sit, but by 5 a.m. I just had to go. As soon as I got to the front door, there was a bloody handprint smeared on the door.”

Both Tammi and Taylor say they’re still dealing with the aftermath of the attack. What plan does Dr. Phil say he has to help them move through the trauma?
