Donna says that the year before her daughter, Arielle, was born, she had an indiscretion with a man who Arielle says later told her that he was her father. Donna adamantly denies it and insists that her husband, Ivy, is Arielle’s biological father.

“It brought up so many questions of deceit – of lies – that I didn’t know who to believe,” says Arielle, who was 13 at the time. “It caused a huge wedge between my father and I.”

Arielle claims that her relationship with the man she considers her father changed when Ivy overheard her referring to him as her “stepfather” when she was a teenager.

On Tuesday’s episode, “Running on Empty: A Broken Family, Part 2,” Ivy adamantly denies that he feels differently about Arielle and says that she has always been his daughter since the day he first saw her.

“I have seven children. Six of them are not my blood. They’re all my children,” says Ivy.

Arielle claims she has DNA proof that Ivy is not her biological father. When she says she wants to hear the truth from her mother, how does Donna respond? Tune in Wednesday for the conclusion of this three-part Dr. Phil, “Secrets, Addictions And Lies: Can This Family Heal?” to find out.
