Tommy claims from the time he was a young child, he’s been verbally and emotionally abused by his family. The 22-year-old, who has been given multiple diagnoses for emotional and mental health disorders, has also reportedly been prescribed upwards of 50 different pharmaceuticals starting from the age of five.
TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: I’m living a nightmare!
Tommy’s parents, Tom and Margaret, and his stepfather, David, all admit to having made mistakes in parenting Tommy in the past, but deny abusing him. Tommy also admits he’s made bad choices with his past behaviors
“I think the first thing that needs to happen, before anything else happens, is we need to do a complete and thorough analysis of him,” says Dr. Phil on Wednesday’s episode.
Referring Tommy to the Lawlis Peavey PsychoNeuroPlasticity (PNP) Center for a complete biochemical, neurological and psychological evaluation, he says, “From that, then we can come up with a plan of what to do to get you happy in your life.”
“I haven’t felt happy in a long time,” says Tommy to Dr. Phil. “Thank you for this opportunity to finally – for the first time that I can remember – have a little bit of hope; besides what your staff has already given me in the past couple days.”
