High school senior Sidney says she loved playing lacrosse. Then her whole world turned upside-down when she was struck with amnesia after sustaining her third concussion.

“It just sucks because I’m tired of not feeling good and not being able to remember,” says the 17-year-old. “I just wish I’d have worn the stupid helmet.”

Sidney, who says at one point she did not remember her name and didn’t recognize her parents or her dog, is having to relearn everything. She says she feels like she is getting stronger, but her progress “goes in waves.” Watch the video above to hear how she says she has been coping at school and in her social life.
