Shortly after a 2-year-old boy was found in a T-shirt and diaper wandering alone in a Florida apartment complex parking lot on July 26, 2020, his mother, 21-year-old Leila Cavett, was reported missing. Leila’s family says they have no idea what Leila or Kamdyn were doing in Florida and were shocked to learn of the young mom’s disappearance.

“Curtis and I jumped on a plane immediately as soon as we found out that Kamdyn had been found, and we’ve been searching day in and day out,” Leila’s mom, Tina Kirby, tells Dr. Phil in an exclusive interview airing Thursday. “I know my daughter would never leave her son unattended.”
 

In the video above, Tina and her son Curtis tell Dr. Phil what they say they’ve learned in the nine days of searching in Florida and speaking to police.
