Bryan Kohberger, a 28-year-old Ph.D. candidate in criminal justice and criminology at Washington State University, has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary in connection with the quadruple murder of four University of Idaho students on November 13, 2022. Kohberger was arrested on December 30, 2022, at his parent’s home in eastern Pennsylvania.

Following the arrest, classmate Ben Roberts told cable news network NewsNation that Kohberger “had to make absolutely sure that everybody understood that he was smart.”

“I think it’s a game he believed he was winning until his arrest, and maybe he still thinks he can get away with it,” says Caitlyn Becker, Senior Reporter for DailyMail.com, in the video above.

She says that Kohberger’s reported belief that he possesses a superior intellect may have led to the alleged killer making mistakes.
