Fourteen-year-old Nickalas is facing murder charges in the smothering deaths of his 2-year-old sister, Desiree, and his 11-month-old stepbrother, Nathaniel. The children were killed just three months apart in 2017.

“Initially nobody was looking at my son,” says Nickalas’s mother, Christina, who describes him as a loving, caring individual. She says after hearing that he had confessed to killing his siblings, “My first reaction was that – I just wanted to hug him.”

In the video above, she says, “I can’t say that I’ve forgiven him, but I can’t say that I blame him 100% either. But I have stayed in his life, and I will continue to stay in his life because I’m his mom.”
