‘I Would Like To Be Able To Live A Normal Life,’ Says Woman With Legal Guardianship Of Her Grandkids

          VIDEO

          October 19, 2018

It’s been over two years since LiAnne was stripped of her parental rights after her mother, Debra, petitioned the court and was awarded permanent guardianship of LiAnne’s two children.

TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Bad mother/daughter relationship?

“I would like to be able to live a normal life,” says Debra, adding, “I love my grandchildren more than anything and I have put them – put their needs – before my own.”

LiAnne admits she was once addicted to drugs but says she’s been sober for three years. She claims it’s her “God-given right” to parent her kids and wants Debra to give them back.

“I know I have a lot of work to do, but I also know I’ve done a lot of work,” she says in the video above.

Debra says that LiAnne, who is currently living in Debra’s attic, is in a relationship with someone who has a history of domestic abuse against her and claims that LiAnne has “no natural instinct” to be a mother. She says she’s taking care of her grandchildren because LiAnne isn’t.

Where do LiAnne and Debra go from here?
