Mistie says when she reconnected with her teenage son, whom she didn’t raise, after more than 15 years apart, they began having a sexual relationship. She spent five years in prison and is now on the sex offender registry, but says she doesn’t deserve to be.

“I feel like this is more psychological,” Mistie tells Dr. Phil. “But I know what I did was wrong. I understand that I deserve punishment for it.”

She says she hates herself every day and wishes she could “go back.”

“I am a disgusting person for this,” she says.
