‘I’m Addicted To Playing Lottery Scratch-Off Games,’ Woman Says
“I’m addicted to playing lottery scratch-off games,” says Tvonia, who has been playing for the past five years. “It became my everyday obsession.”
Tvonia says at times, her playing became so out of control, she withheld going to the bathroom so she didn’t have to get out of the ticket line. “I had a fear that if I got out of line, someone else would win,” she explains. “When you have a lottery addiction, you have no shame. You’ll go to any means just to get one more high.”
On Monday’s episode of Dr. Phil, “The Curse of the Lottery,” a woman who won the British lottery at 17 shares how it changed her life – both positively and negatively. And, Dr. Phil and industry professionals discuss what’s important to know before buying a ticket. Check local listings to see where you can watch.
