Keith says that since his wife, JoLynn, has been in recovery from alcohol dependency, people have been telling him he needs to work on himself.

“I don’t exactly know what that means,” he says, admitting he has attended a few Al-Anon meetings online but didn’t stick with it. “I’m not the kind of person who will spill my guts and come off like I need help.”

JoLynn has been in a residential treatment program at Westwind Recovery but is working to transition back home. Keith says he is proud of JoLynn and is determined to support her in sobriety.

When Dr. Phil says, “You need to learn what co-dependency is and how not to fall into those old habits,” how does Keith respond?

Plus, Dr. Deena Manion, Clinical Officer at Westwind Recovery, offers some advice to Keith to help him support JoLynn’s continued recovery after she returns home.
