Steve has been accused of sexual abuse
by his three stepdaughters and his biological daughter. After his stepdaughters made the claims, he took a plea which did not require him to admit wrongdoing, and he was convicted of sexual abuse and had to register as a sex offender. , Dr. Phil reviews some of the statements Steve made to police about his behavior.
“Steve said, ‘I’ve tickled them. I’ve tickled all the children,’” Dr. Phil reads. “’But as they get older and they start to develop, there are certain things you don’t do. Steve told the Dr. Phil
producers that he comes from “a tickle monster family style of fun … and on more than one occasion people were touched, kicked, or poked inadvertently.”
Dr. Phil clarifies, “You’re saying there may have been contact, even in an inappropriate area, but inadvertently.”
