Jim says he raised his 21-year-old daughter, Tara, by himself from the time she was 13 when he claims his ex-wife, Christina, “threw in the towel” on being a wife and mother.

Christina says she’d intended to take Tara with her when she left the marriage, but claims Tara was too angry with her, so she let her stay with Jim.

Now 21, Tara says she’s often nervous and angry since her mom left. She claims she suffers from severe social anxiety, and until recently, worked as a webcam entertainer so she wouldn’t have to be around other people.

“I need you to tell me dad to dad what you say to yourself when you know that your precious child is down the hall on a webcam, in front of strangers, taking her clothes off, and doing things for money,” says Dr. Phil to Jim on Thursday’s episode.

He responds that while he doesn’t like it, it’s better than the alternative. “I want her to get better, so she can get in society and, and do like everybody else does, why wouldn’t I? Of course, I do.”

Tune in to part one of a two-part Dr. Phil, airing Thursday. Then on Friday, hear about Tara’s relationship with her dad’s new 22-year-old pregnant wife, Kelsey, who was Tara’s high school friend.
