Man Says He’s Enlightened, ‘Knows Answers To Life’s Greatest Questions’; Wife Claims He’s ‘More Of A Walking Hypocrite’

          April 14, 2017

Shannon claims her husband, Alex, has become obsessed with his quest for enlightenment. She claims he is addicted to going on the internet and listening to the predictions and teachings of gurus, clairvoyants and aliens. And, she claims that because of his “spirituality quest,” he has neglected their family and lost $200,000 of their savings and the family business.

TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Conflict so big it needs a Dr. Phil solution?

“Alex’s gurus said that the economy was going to crash and gold and silver was the only currency that we would need. Alex immediately went out and invested $45,000 in gold and silver bullion from a company online, and he never received it. They went bankrupt,” Shannon claims. “When this happened, he never pursued getting any of it back and just chalked it up to negative karma, and that’s why he had to lose it.”

Alex insists he is enlightened and that he has answers to life’s greatest questions. He says he knows that “everything happens for a reason.” He also says his wife is a negative person who would rather be a victim and live in misery.

“There was a period of time when I did have sustained losses. It was perpetuating negativity for myself,” Alex explains.

“Instead of being enlightened, I feel like my husband’s more of a walking hypocrite,” Shannon declares.

In the video above, Dr. Phil questions Alex about some of the statements he has made, including that he will leave his wife if she loses her job and that if she continues to be negative, he will move back to Bulgaria and never see her or the children again. “How is this enlightenment?” he asks.

“I have made some mistakes here lately, but it has proven one more time to me that everything that I know and believe in is true,” Alex replies.

Hear more of Alex’s reasoning in the video above. And on Friday’s episode, Alex is surprised by Dr. Deepak Chopra, one of the most influential thinkers in the world. How does Alex respond when Dr. Chopra confronts him about his behavior? Check here to see where you can watch.
