Aaron and Amanda’s father, Rex, passed away in January 2015 after spending two weeks in the hospital. Rex had been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and, according to autopsy results, died of natural causes.

Amanda, however, insists her father was murdered. She claims that her father wrote a note six hours before his death – that she found in his Book of Mormon – stating, “My primary care nurse is trying to get me to take the Fentanyl though she knows my 02 level is 72%. Now Fentanyl decreases 02. She may be trying to kill me.” She says she’s now devoted to researching her father’s death to bring him the justice she says he deserves.

“My dad’s death has really hurt Amanda mentally, and emotionally and socially,” Aaron says. “Amanda has been hurt in the past by several boyfriends, and I think she’s trying to turn to this case to remove herself from the social aspect of life. On the one side, she’s trying to delve into the case, but it’s really a cloak for her, masking her fear of getting hurt.”
