Santiago claims his son, Bryce, has run over a police officer, crashed a car into a house, has stolen cars and led police on a high-speed chase, yet has only been charged with a crime one time and has never been locked up. He says the juvenile justice system has failed to scare the 15-year-old, and he’s concerned his son will “end up in a box.”

Bryce says he doesn’t listen to his dad because “he tries to control my life,” and that he’s ready to be an adult.

In the video above, hear more from father and son, including why Santiago says he believes the justice system has failed them both. And, hear what Santiago says about when his son’s troubles began.

When a child is choosing the wrong path, what is the legal system’s responsibility?
