Mom Says Schools Teach Incomplete Version Of History, So She Has To Explain Critical Race Theory To Her Kids
Should public schools teach about racism in America? Many schools are incorporating Critical Race Theory in their curriculum, and parents are complaining that it’s causing kids to be more separated than united. However, Toccara, a mother of a 10-year-old and former substitute teacher, says she has to teach her child about the effects of racism because it’s not taught in her school district.
“Schools are still not giving students an accurate history about the country that they live in,” Toccara claims. “Critical race theory is not about blaming; it’s about understanding the whole history.”
Are kids too young to learn about critical race theory? Should it be forced, or should it be an elective? On Tuesday’s episode of Dr. Phil, “Critical Race Theory,” Dr. Phil and his guests debate. Check local listings to see where you can watch.
